Endurance International Group is destroying web hosting

March 24, 2014

When people search for a web hosting company what they don’t realize is most of the big name hosts are all owned by the same company. Endurance International Group, or EIG, owns over 50 different brands including HostGator, iPage, BlueHost, HostMonster, and more. What they try to do is offer several different brands giving customers a false idea that they have more choices than they really do.

With their affiliate programs they are able to pay high commissions for web hosting reviews so that customers think their brands are the best hosting companies. What customers don’t know is that most web hosting review sites don’t even have real reviews on them. The reviews are written to make the visitor sign up for the host that pays them the most money.

This could potentially leave you with a dud of a host. And if you aren’t careful, you may find yourself transferring from one EIG company to another, which means your website doesn’t move at all. They use the same servers in the same datacenters, so any problems you had will not go away.
